  1. A dozen together? Incredible, I've never heard of them being gregarious like that. Posted one year ago
    1. Well, it wasn't a dozen in one group; they were spread out over a few hundred meters. But there were four or five wandering around in the open at one spot. I actually sat down on the ground and they would walk by me about two meters away. It was crazy. There were some young birds following parents around and it was immediately after the first rains of the season, so I think that explains it. I want to see if the same thing happens this year. The uniform crake is a species of bird in the subfamily Rallinae of the rail, crake, and coot family Rallidae. It is found in Mexico, most of Central America, and in nine South American countries.
