  1. I really hadn't done much homework preparing for my trip to Chile besides working out birding hotspots and targets. As a result, I was pleasantly surprised by several other groups. Lizards (in particularly Liolaemus) were probably my favorites and I ended up spending a fair bit of time chasing down a few species, but plants were another, in particular these Alstroemerias!
    I'd only ever seen them as cut flowers in florist shops, so getting to see 3 or 4 of these stunning species in the wild (of the 20+ that occur in central Chile) was an absolute delight!

  2. Yes you might see it many times in a domestic setting , but to find it in nature is what gives you a buzz. Posted one year ago
