  1. I'm placing my chips on Marasmius capillaris.

    Marasmius rotula is reported far more often nationally and globally, but specifically in your state, Marasmius capillaris is reported more frequently. It also seems the better visual match?

    1. Sounds like good reasoning. I can't tell them apart, but agree that it seems likely, so I will ID them as Marasmius capillaris for now. Thanks for the help. :) Posted one year ago

''Marasmius capillaris'' is a species of agaric fungus in the family Marasmiaceae. A saprobic fungus, it produces fruit bodies that grows in groups on decaying oak leaves in North America.
