spectacled flying fox (Pteropus conspicillatus) photographed at cape tribulation far north queensland a few years back, this is rex a resident fruit bat/flying fox of the The Bat House which is so named because there is always a flying fox in attendance. These primates are mostly orphans, which for one reason or another have been in captivity too long to be allowed to enter the wild, which must usually occur no later than 6 months after birth,Besides giving visitors the opportunity to meet a flying fox, the Bat House provides environmental and tourist information on the region, and the research activities of the Station are highlighted....a great place to learn about these amazing tropical primates .........http://austrop.org.au/content/bat-house Australia,Geotagged,Pteropus conspicillatus,Spectacled flying fox,The Bat House, cape tribulation, far north queensland, fruit bat, spectacled flying fox Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro
