  1. If you look at that species on the following website, the photo of the female (in the upper left of the page) is very similar to your moth, so maybe they are the same species. It must be in the same genus, at least.

    1. That clears it up. When going through large sets of species, one tends to see the cover photo only, which in this case showed the male.

      1. Yeah, it's confusing because you don't know which species have an accurate cover photo, and which ones have variability or sexual dimorphism. Posted one year ago

"Cyana nigroplagata" is a moth of the family Erebidae. It was described by George Thomas Bethune-Baker in 1910. It is found in New Guinea.
