Young White-tailed Eagle - Haliaeetus albicilla
I spent 2 days and one night in a hide at about -4 degrees C to photograph vultures. The first day was a complete failure. But on the second day, besides vultures, a jackal, a golden eagle, and unexpectedly this young white-tailed eagle appeared. These eagles nest in neighboring Greece and rarely visit the place, but I was fortunate.
The white-tailed eagle is a very large species of sea eagle widely distributed across temperate Eurasia. As are all eagles, it is a member of the family Accipitridae.
