  1. I created the record for the subspecies, but the system kicked it back to Streptopelia orientalis when I tried to add the ID. I'm sure Ferdy can fix this. :) Posted one year ago
    1. In this case I think that is "accidentally" correct or at least acceptable. We normally don't create separate records for subspecies of birds. I can't rule out that it never ever happened, but it's not common. Mentioning the subspecies in the title is a good solution, it can be found again that way. Posted one year ago

The Oriental turtle dove or rufous turtle dove is a member of the bird family Columbidae. The species has a wide native distribution range from Central Asia east across Asia to Japan. The populations show variations in the patterning of plumage and have been designated into at least six named subspecies.
