American Goldfinch - Spinus tristis
I've created the tag "talking to birds" for some of my bird photos. I noticed that when I talk to birds, most tilt their heads and appear to listen. It's comical and very cute. This bird was so funny -- compare the two photos. This is the one I took while I was talking to it. It tilted its head so far, lol.
Habitat: Rural backyard

The American goldfinch, also known as the eastern goldfinch or "lightning bird," is a small North American bird in the finch family. It is migratory, ranging from mid-Alberta to North Carolina during the breeding season, and from just south of the Canadian border to Mexico during the winter.
