
Australian King Parrot Alisterus scapularis
photographed at Cania Gorge in Queensland this male juvenile was happily feeding and not at all interested in giving me a clear shot still a great moment to share and enjoy seeing one of these beautiful parrots in his natural environment just doing his thing!
The Australian King Parrot aka muaiz is endemic to eastern Australia. It is found in humid and heavily forested upland regions of the eastern portion of the continent, including eucalyptus wooded areas in and directly adjacent to subtropical and temperate rainforest. They feed on fruits, seeds or small insects.
