Rainforest Rocket Frog (Silverstoneia flotator) From our stay in the Esquinas Rainforest Lodge in Costa Rica in 2014.
In some guides, the common name is given also as Lowland Rocket Frog.

The species is quite common (so they say…), but due to its small size (ca 2cm), its inconspicuous colouring that matches perfectly with the fallen leaves that abound on the forest floor and its ability to move quickly when disturbed, I considered this a lucky find indeed. We saw it coming from one of our hikes, shortly before dusk (hence the lighting provided by a flashlight). ''Silverstoneia flotator'', the rainforest rocket frog, is a terrestrial, diurnal frog found in humid lowlands of Costa Rica and Panama. It is generally very common and therefore considered to be of least concern by the IUCN. The taxonomy is in need of a review, as it may consist of a complex of several species.
