Woodland tulip - Tulipa sylvestris subsp. australis This species is quite rare in some mountainous regions of southeastern Bulgaria. Unfortunately this year spring came with some delay and we found only a few specimens in the initial stage of flowering, this one being the most developed. Difficult to photograph, with tall unbranched stem among grasses and shrubs. I had to help myself with Photoshop to make the background less messy.
