Calypte costae I always assumed that the Anna&#039;s hummingbird was the only one in the area. I&#039;m not not sure if had purple to begin with since the neighbor&#039;s cat tried to eat it alive. <br />
She&#039;s in the background.  I thought she was playing with mud at first. <br />

Costa's hummingbird is a species of hummingbird. Costa's hummingbird is fairly common in the arid brushy deserts and any nearby gardens of the Southwestern United States and the Baja California Peninsula of Mexico.
