    1. Thanks for your comment. I very seldom take pictures of birds. I did have a new experience that I wasn't quite sure how to handle. About 15 minutes away from my home is a riparian reserve. I took a bird walk with some true birders. They only had binoculars, an identification guide book, no cameras and no pictures. I was the only one taking pictures. I thought, “this is crazy” why go to all the trouble of sighting and identifying a bird if you don't take its picture? Posted one year ago

The black-necked stilt is a locally abundant shorebird of American wetlands and coastlines. It is found from the coastal areas of California through much of the interior western United States and along the Gulf of Mexico as far east as Florida, then south through Central America and the Caribbean to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands.
