Caracal in Harenna Forest Didn't expect to see a Caracal here, amazing! One shot, then it was gone. What a wonderful forest. We'd dropped down from the Bale Mountains through the cloud for 2-3 hours and we spotted this close by the roadside!! So lucky. The caracal is a fiercely territorial medium-sized cat ranging over Western Asia, South Asia and Africa. The caracal is classified as a small cat, yet is amongst the heaviest of all small cats, as well as the quickest, being nearly as fast as the serval.
