  1. I've finally managed recognizable photos of all 4 Spizaetus hawk-eagles, easily some of the prettiest neotropical raptors!
    I'd seen this one multiple times before but always very high up, chasing over ridgetops, and this was the first time I had a bird flying actually low enough to allow a decent shot.

The black-and-white hawk-eagle is a bird of prey species in the eagle and hawk family. It is found throughout a large part of tropical America, from southern Mexico to northern Argentina.
