Pinocchio frog or Northern Pinocchio Treefrog (Litoria pinocchio)
One of the least known species of frogs in New Guinea. We were lucky to find a small population of these in a pond at the edge of a forest patch. The trees surrounding the pond were filled with clusters of eggs and at night we witnessed a few snakes feeding on these eggs and the frogs.

Litoria pinocchio is a New Guinea treefrog that was described from one male with a snout-vent length of 29.2 mm. The body is slim and long, with a length that is almost twice that of their tibia. From the dorsal view, the head is significantly wider compared to their body and their snout looks rounded.
