    Having some minor doubts about the species ID. In reference photos, the "red tip" clearly stands out on the abdomen whilst this is not seen on your photo. Could also be natural variation or this being a sub adult. May I know how you came to this ID?

    1. I checked it with the mobile app "Picture Insect" to get the first idea. Then I google the app result to compare with more picture. I also checked with the website https://www.gbif.org/species/1423084 it convinced me with so many occurrences in Malaysia. Hope I got it right... Posted one year ago
      1. Damselfly identification can be real tricky. Tiny details matter and there's a lot of difference appearances between males and female, and juvenile and adults. I've done some more research and this looks to be a female
        Prodasineura notostigma. Example:
