    1. Thanks, Ferdy.
In May this year, I participated in a birding and photo tour in the Danube Delta in Romania - 6 days in a boat of 10 people. Morning to evening, lunch on the boat. The tour was more for birders, but there was still the opportunity for a lot of photos, some of which I have already uploaded here. This jackal appeared on the bank of a canal and we were very close to him, so I could easily take his portraits. He was quite curious, a very beautiful young animal. We saw others, but more distant and not so "photogenic"! I plan to participate again next year in May, but a more specialized photo tour, with a group of French photographers.

The European jackal (Canis aureus moreoticus), also known as the Caucasian jackal or reed wolf is a subspecies of golden jackal native to Southeast Europe, Asia Minor and the Caucasus. It was first described in 1833 by French naturalist Isidore Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire during the Morea expedition.
