Celerena signata, Nimbokrang, Papua This is likely Celerena signata, but I do have a small doubt. On my photo, note the wavy dark border in the bottom. This border is more continuous and smooth in almost all photos of the species. I'm not sure if this is natural variation. This is likely Celerena signata, but I do have a small doubt. On my photo, note the wavy dark border in the bottom. This border is more continuous and smooth in almost all photos of the species. I'm not sure if this is natural variation.

  1. The wavy dark border is interesting...I did an image search and did see some like this, although none had borders quite as wavy as in the moth you photographed. I think it could just be individual variation, like you said, or else a subspecies or something? Posted one year ago
