    1. Not necessarily, since there's still some good continuous forest in far eastern Peru for example. I'd say either it's some weird habitat preference that's not fully understood yet, or it just hadn't been looked for/detected in the "gaps". Some people have also suggested that each population is a different species... Posted one year ago

The plain softtail is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical swamps.
