
Wet Dog Trillium - Trillium erectum var. album
Trillium erectum usually has dark reddish purple petals, but this variety has pale yellow petals.
As its common name suggests, it really does smell like a wet dog. The smell attracts its pollinators - carrion flies.
Habitat: Deciduous forest

"Trillium erectum" is a species of flowering plant native to the east and north-east of North America. It is a Spring ephemeral, an herbaceous perennial whose life-cycle is synchronised with that of the deciduous forests where it lives.
