Giant Swallowtail(East or West?)
as the song goes....."east is east and west is west, and the wrong one I have chose".......so I will leave it to the gurus to decide. Shortly after the photo was made, a leopard frog jumped up from a rock below and snatched the butterfly. Gone in a blink of the eye.

The giant swallowtail is the largest butterfly in North America. It is abundant through many parts of eastern North America; populations from western North America and down into Panama are now considered to belong to a different species, "Papilio rumiko".
