Mastigodryas boddaerti (Juvenile)
I was not intentionally looking to take this picture. This juvenile snake, called "Sabanera" in Venezuela (Savanna snake so to say) accidentally came into a house I was in, and I naturally took the chance, while at the same time saving it from the cat's paws. Domestic cats acount for causing a large mortality of urban adapted species such as birds, snakes and lizards that happen to get into households looking for food or shelter. This particular snake individual was some 30 cm in length.

"Mastigodryas boddaerti", commonly known as the Boddaert's tropical racer, is a species of snake in the family Colubridae. The species is native to tropical South America including Trinidad and Tobago.
