    1. Very interesting - even the same species (introduced to the US to control Hemlock Woolly Adelgid). I'd say it's some sort of variation, as BugGuide indicates that newly molted adults are orange without spots. This one is clearly dark with light spots, but it's outermost layer just never developed any pigment.. Posted 2 years ago

"Exochomus quadripustulatus", common name pine ladybird or pine lady beetle, is a species of beetle of the family Coccinellidae. The distribution range of "E. quadripustulatus" includes Europe, Northern Asia, and North America.
