    I was walking along a path lined with olive and oak trees, with severely overgrazed pastures dotted with Asphodels, thinking "Welp, this might as well be southern France" ...       Yeah I had no idea that species existed! Apparently it's quite widespread in the eastern Med and there's another species in the Canary Islands! Posted 2 years ago

The Dragon Arum

Dracunculus vulgaris is a species of aroid in the genus Dracunculus. In Greece, part of its native range, the plant is called drakondia, the long spadix being viewed as a small dragon hiding in the spathe.
