European paper wasp
Where I used to live, they were nesting up to four times a year under the balcony or in the air conditioner. I used to put the in jars. I gave it to a maintenance worker from an HOA. He was Disturbed by it. When I saw an early stages of a nest,I attacked them with a broom in the evening hours. Not smart, but I hated them. They were attracted to a bush with purple flowers. I used to collect them in a jar with a little soapy water. Got over 100 in a day. Read they're invasive. They love heat. On the shaded balconies, I never saw them.

The European paper wasp is one of the most common and well-known species of social wasps in the genus" Polistes". Its diet is more diverse than that of most "Polistes" species, making it superior over many others during the shortage of resources.
