Xanthogramma pedissequus (female) There are only three species of Xanthogramma, two of which are difficult to tell apart. However I was lucky that an expert managed to confirm an ID.<br />

There are only three species of Xanthogramma, two of which are difficult to tell apart. However I was lucky that an expert managed to confirm an ID.

''Philhelius pedissequus'' is a species of hoverfly. Prior to 2018, it was known under the genus name ''Xanthogramma'', a junior synonym.
