Indigo-winged Parrot, Giles-Fuertesi Reserve, Colombia
I know, it's an embarrassing photo, but the only one we managed to capture. A group of them were readily seen at a large distance but they refused to get closer nor could we get closer as a valley was in between.
This endemic parrot makes it to the top 5 rarest parrot species in the world, with a population of roughly a few hundred. Since its rediscovery in 2002, 4 reserves have been established to conserve it of which Giles-Fuertesi is one (that carries the name of the species).

Fuertes's parrot, also known as the indigo-winged parrot, is an Endangered species of bird in subfamily Arinae of the family Psittacidae, the African and New World parrots. It is endemic to Colombia.
