  1. Is that pollen on its chin? A lot of the photos have it, but some don't. I guess it would be nearly impossible to clean off with a bill that long. Posted 2 years ago
    1. It probably is pollen. I regularly see birds clean their bill by rubbing it against something but I suppose for hummingbirds its quite pointless as they feed every 30 seconds :) Posted 2 years ago

The sword-billed hummingbird is a neotropical species of hummingbird from the Andean regions of South America. It is the sole member of the genus "Ensifera" and is characterized by its unusually long bill size; it is the only bird to have a beak longer than the length of its body.
