''Berberis julianae'' is a flowering evergreen shrub of the Berberidaceae family. The species is native to Central China, but is grown as an ornamental plant in temperate regions. It grows to 3 metres, as a dense bush with spiny obovate leaves, suitable for hedging. Yellow flowers tinged with red appear in late Spring, followed by black fruits with a white bloom.
This plant has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
