Fighting over feces! Scarabaeus variolosus is a dung-beetle
we saw one beetle finishing rolling a nice cow-feces ball, when a second beetle decided that it's better to take a ball someone already prepared and not to work and prepare one yourself....
the first beetle didn't give up, and there was a battle between the 2 beetles, trying to push each other, dropping on the ball from above to get it away - we called it "The Shitty War". ;-) Geotagged,Italy,Scarabaeus variolosus,Spring Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro
