The eastern tree dassie, eastern tree hyrax, southern tree dassie, or southern tree hyrax is a species of mammal in the family Procaviidae. It is found in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, moist savanna, and rocky areas.
