One of several moth species that can be seen during daytime.
Since tiger moths are called in German "Bärenspinner" oder simply "Bär", literally "bear", this moth is called "Schönbär" in German - "pretty bear", an apt name.

The Scarlet Tiger Moth is a colorful moth of Europe, Turkey, Transcaucasus, northern Iran. It belongs to the tiger moth family, Arctiidae. The caterpillars feed mostly on comfrey. The imagines fly by day.
