A big species of ladybug, Callicaria superba, superb indeed! I have never encounted one of these before, so was so happy to find one! It was high up in a mulberry tree, but came closer to me and I was able to take some shots before it flew away. They are about 12mm in length and very pretty. They are not too rare, but uncommon to see, apparently!. I hope to see another someday!
