  1. Such interesting creatures, eh? Posted 11 years ago
    1. We found them funny in particular, they are amusing to watch. For example, how they raise their tail straight upwards whilst running, like an antennae. Or how do they enter their nest backwards, or how they bend their knees to feed. Posted 11 years ago
      1. Yes, very odd behavior! I wonder if their tail acts for balance as they run? But entering the nests backwards...that's odd. Posted 11 years ago
        1. Yes, it definitely looks odd, but in a way it makes sense. Their hinds are the weakest area of their body, hence the ass-first strategy. Posted 11 years ago

The warthog or common warthog is a wild member of the pig family found in grassland, savanna, and woodland in sub-Saharan Africa. In the past, it was commonly treated as a subspecies of ''P. aethiopicus'', but today that scientific name is restricted to the desert warthog of northern Kenya, Somalia, and eastern Ethiopia.
