  1. I've been very fond of batises ever since the first ones I saw in Namibia and South Africa 7 years ago. On this trip, I got to see 3 new species, and one of of their even cooler relatives, which I'll upload in a few days! Posted 2 years ago

    1. This was in the Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest, a couple hours south of Mombasa, and I saw the same species again a few days later in the Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve. Posted 2 years ago

The forest batis or short-tailed batis is a species of bird in the wattle-eye family, Platysteiridae occurring in eastern Africa.
