Male Trumpeter Hornbill with food delivery
These are fascinating birds. The male and female actually barricade the female into a nest cavity with mud. The female stays in the cavity with the eggs and the male brings her food. She stays in the cavity for the entire nesting process, over 90 days, until the young fledge.

The Trumpeter Hornbill, "Bycanistes bucinator", is a medium-sized hornbill, with length between 58 and 65 cm, characterized by a large grey casque on the bill, smaller in females. The eyes are brown or red, with pink surrounding skin.
