Alpine Chough in flight One of the easiest places to observe and photograph these lovely and cheeky birds is at rifugio Lagazuoi in Italian Dolomites. The staff is feeding them with kitchen leftovers so they are always around in big numbers. One just has to sit down close enough and enjoy the show. 1. Thank you Ferdy! This one really turned out well. These birds were willing subjects due to the food source. A little bit of rewards goes long way :) Posted 2 years ago

The Alpine chough is a bird in the crow family, one of only two species in the genus "Pyrrhocorax". Its two subspecies breed in high mountains from Spain eastwards through southern Europe and North Africa to Central Asia and Nepal, and it may nest at a higher altitude than any other bird.
