Found in the ProAves reserve in Timbiquí. An unexpected observation as this species is not on our herping guide's extensive checklist.

It's beautiful, but I wouldn't have guessed it was a poison frog because it lacks the bright colors that so many seem to have. Posted 2 years ago

  True, I personally think the common name "poison frogs" is a bit of a misnomer for the larger family Dendrobatidae. It contains a lot of species that are cryptic (not bright), some of which have low or even no toxicity at all. Posted 2 years ago

The Marbled poison frog

The marbled poison frog or marbled poison-arrow frog is a species of frog in the family Dendrobatidae found in western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador, at elevations of 10–1,500 m asl. It likely represents a species complex of at least two species.
