Giant valanga grasshopper
Image has been turned for detail: grasshopper was head up on a wall.
The giant grasshopper is the largest of the short horned (antennae) grasshoppers here in Australia, with adults growing up to 90mm in length.
Adults are creamy brown to grey, but their colouration and markings can be extremely variable, hence the species name of irregularis. Adults can be distinguished by the black-tipped orange to red spines on the hind leg tibia.
