Brambling "murmuration"

A million birds large flock of brambilngs in Slovenia. At first, this seems like a starling murmuration, even the movement patterns look similar.

You will notice a falcon at the bottom left near the trees. A feast!

Even old dogs learn new trick. Knew about the flock movement but never knew the term murmuration was what it was called. I'd love to see one in person. Posted 2 years ago

  I don't know if murmuration is only used for starlings or for other birds as well. In any case, it looks very similar and birdwatchers will know what one means if we say murmuration :) Posted 2 years ago

    Well Luka, we don't see many brambling here in the North, but yes to the starling murmurations, well worth seeing - I'm told Rome's great for that - I did see a photo once with them lit by a low sun - Magnificent!! Good luck!! Although not a murmuration as such caught this sparrowhawk in a flock of starlings 6 years ago.
