
The henna-hooded foliage-gleaner is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in southwestern Ecuador and northwestern Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.

It had an unusual behavior for a furnariid, wherein it would respond to playback, silently creeping closer and then happily sitting motionless in a bush some 5 meters away, completely unbothered by the presence of us 2 photographers as we moved around, trying (and failing) to get a shot that wasn't obstructed by 50 branches, cursing copiously the whole time:)
