Male Goosander duck (Mergus merganser)
Nature in my “backyard” - I live close to the river Isar that flows through Munich, where I went for a walk today.
Very close to my home and right by the river (actually a canal that is split off the main arm of the Isar) is a large power station. On the other side is a dense patch of trees. The little patch of canal water in between is very quiet and has a remote feel to it, despite the 8-laned road just 60 meters away. That's where I saw this pair of goosanders circling on the water.
The bright green and orange reflections in the water come from two containers for collecting waste that are located on the premise of the power station, right by the water.

The common merganser or goosander is a large seaduck of rivers and lakes in forested areas of Europe, Asia, and North America. The common merganser eats mainly fish. It nests in holes in trees.
