  1. Crescentchests are characteristic birds of dry forests, with two in Peru and Ecuador and two more in the thorny savannas of Brazil and Argentina. Often heard but hard to see, we'd been hearing one the whole time that we were photographing the larger, more easily seen birds. Before we left, I told my friend: Hey, anything is possible under the magic Ficus, let's try to see the Crescentchest. And sure enough, we got him! Posted 2 years ago
