Great shot, Ferdy! But calling him "deadly" reminds me of the fairy tale - ooh, the big bad wolf. He's rather "smart, social & shy", don't you think so? By the way: Where have you taken the photo, were the wolves "wild"? Posted 13 years ago

hi Gernot, this was taken in the Arhnem zoo in the Netherlands where they have quite a large living area. Agreed that as an individual they are not that deadly, but as a group they are :) Posted 13 years ago

Thanks for the reply, Ferdy! Of course they're dangerous - if you are part of their prey... ;-)
But seriously: I'm very happy that they are coming back to the north and middle of Germany to live here the way they used to - and maybe I'll be granted the opportunity to meet a wild wolf one day around here, that's what I'm dreaming of. And that is why I take any chance to advertise the wolf's natural shyness: No-one of us will ever be done any harm by a wolf unless we force him to defend himself or his pack! Posted 13 years ago
