Ichneumon Wasp 'Gelis areator'
I wasn't expecting to see much in the garden on a bright but chilly January day and that was pretty much the case.
Perhaps that's why I noticed this tiny ant-mimic Gelis wasp moving around by the side of my pond?
Fortunately, it's one of the relatively few Gelis wasps just about identifiable from a photograph that shows certain identifying markers.
