"Nerium oleander" /ˈnɪəriəm ˈoʊliː.ændər/ is an evergreen shrub or small tree in the dogbane family Apocynaceae, toxic in all its parts. It is the only species currently classified in the genus "Nerium". It is most commonly known as oleander, from its superficial resemblance to the unrelated olive "Olea".

Middle-east flower scarabs
Heather crab spider
Ground bug
and who knows what else that managed to escape from my camera.
It was our last day in Santorini, the flight was late in the evening, so we went for a last walk along the edge of the Caldera. I already had quite a few photos of the Volcano from all possible angles so this oleander was something new. While I was taking these photos I heard a voice behind my back: who would come to Santorini to take photos of flowers... well that would be me ;) Posted 11 years ago
