Paradisaea rubra
One of the 3 birds of paradise species seen well on Waigeo island, Raja Ampat, Papua. This is a pair with the male being extravagant with his 2 wires and his beautiful outfit. The female, who takes care of the breeding from building a nest, laying, incubating and taking care of the chicks all alone, does not need those extras flashy things as she will rely on her modest colors to avoid predators.

The red bird-of-paradise, also called the cendrawasih merah, is a bird-of-paradise in the genus "Paradisaea", family Paradisaeidae.
