  1. Hi Stephen, this one doesn't really look like a paradise Flycatcher to me (black head, wings, back, and tail) but rather a Southern Boubou, perhaps? Posted 8 years ago
    1. Oops, unfortunately (because I do not have a photograph of a paradise flycatcher) it is a Southern Boubou. Although its markings (wing and red underbelly) seem a bit more definate than a southern boubou. Posted 8 years ago

The Southern Boubou is a bushshrike. This family of passerine birds is closely related to the true shrikes in the family Laniidae, and were once included in that group.

This species is found in southeastern Africa, mainly in southeastern Zimbabwe, eastern Botswana, Mozambique and southern and eastern South Africa. It frequents dense thickets in forests, mangroves, scrub and gardens. In drier regions, it is found in riverside woodland.
