Siamang, seconds before disappearing into the trees My apologies for the built environment, but it was impossible to get a clear shot once it got into the trees. This is the railing to the apartment building, not a cage. The siamangs were hanging out in the parking lot trees when no humans were around. The siamang is a tailless, arboreal, black-furred gibbon native to the forests of Malaysia, Thailand, and Sumatra. The largest of the lesser apes, the siamang can be twice the size of other gibbons, reaching 1 m in height, and weighing up to 14 kg. The siamang is the only species in the genus "Symphalangus".
